How are you, friends?
Well, I hope. And getting on with life, love, and the pursuit of God. You’ve been on my mind for many weeks. But a few things kept me off-grid.
My Book on Beauty
First, I finished my book in mid-May! I had to go “dark” to complete it. It was such a joy to write but also excruciating. More than any other book I’ve written, either for myself or for a client, this book brought with it a significant spiritual resistance—of the kind I’ve never experienced. Perhaps I’ll share more on this in another newsletter.
But, I handed it in and am now awaiting the edits from my editors. I’ll receive those by the end of July. I’ll make final revisions, and then hand it in for good! It will go into a production edit, the cover will be finalized, and I’ll start gearing up for its release in the spring of 2022. The release leads me to something else that’s been occupying my time.
My National Roadtrip Tour
I’m planning to support the book and its message through an old-school road trip book tour.
I’m setting up “house chats” from Charlotte to Portland.
What’s a house chat? It’s where I drive me and my family to your home, you invite 20+ friends over, and I give a little talk on the book. I’ve already planned over 15 house chats, with requests to host a “house chat” coming in from many of you who follow me on Instagram.
If you think you may want to host a house chat, email me at tim@timothywillard.com and I will give you more details.
My Writing in General
After finishing my book manuscript, I took a few weeks to decompress and evaluate my writing: the message, the outlets, the focus.
I stepped back from my daily newsletter, “The Grit.” I took a break from the podcast, “The Saturday Stoke.”
I gardened. I landscaped. And I spent early mornings just listening. I can’t give you a definitive, “Here’s what’s on the horizon,” quite yet. But I can tell you that exciting things are afoot.
Many of you have asked me if The Stoke will continue. I love The Stoke, but it requires a significant amount of time and commitment. I can tell you it will return this year, so stay tuned.
I’m also firing up this newsletter and getting back to a regular routine of posting. The focus will reflect some of the new content I’ve been working on during this time “away.” This brings me to something I’m excited to offer very soon.
The Beauty & Culture Workshop
Based on the contents of my new book, “The Beauty & Culture Workshop” will be a resource for anyone interested in why beauty matters in our world, and how we can cultivate beauty in our lives, families, and communities.
Click here for more information. You can sign up to be notified when registration opens for the workshop.
If you want to keep up with me and my writing on a more regular basis, join me on Instagram. I’m sharing microblogs there on a regular basis.
What Are Your Plans?
I want to hear from you guys. What are your plans for the summer? What new books are you reading and why? How do you feel now that things are slowly getting back to “normal”?
Leave your thoughts in the comments if you have a moment to share.
Cheers,
Tim
Glad to have you back and am excited about the new book! Our Summer plans have taken a downward turn, but we are believing that Abba will bring redemption in His own good time!
Sarah Bender here. Any chance you’d swing up to Seattle? I would host and my mom would host one as well…different location💕
