It’s open-thread-Friday. I’d love to hear from you since it’s been a little while since we caught up in a Thread. Plus, there are a lot of new faces around here, so I’d love to hear from as many as want to answer the question:
I’ll get things started. First, I’m back from vacation and excited to get back into my writing rhythm again. As you may have seen, I’ve been busy creating new resources for you all. Releasing these two new resources has been the most exciting thing for me. I love the creative process of writing and designing new things. Here are the resources:
The Writer’s Workshop - I’m excited to share some of what I’ve learned over my 15+ years working as a writer in the publishing industry. If you or someone you know want to join, I’d love to have you!
The Writer’s Workshop will be held on August 12 from 10-12:00 p.m.
It will be via Zoom and will be recorded in case you want to register but can’t make the live session.
There will be a live Q&A session at the end of the workshop.

The Summer Slowdown - I used three private teaching lessons as my inspiration and then designed a 98-page magazine workbook with a Summer Slowdown Challenge. I’m getting great feedback from those who are using it.

A Beach Vacation - We escaped to a South Carolina beach. It was so so needed. We played beach volleyball, biked on the beach and all over the island, played Mega-Monopoly, and ate really bad food. It was awesome.

Loving your summer reading?
Picking more and more blackberries while eating some along the way. Exploring art with my 8 yr old and daydreaming of hopeful retirement from the public school system at this time next year. Admiring and taking lots of pictures of nature and our kitties while relishing their purrs. Trying my best to delight in my 8 yr old self!
Reading The Watchmaker's Daughter by Larry Loftis
Biking in 90's heat listening to Awakened Mind tracks
Missing Ireland in summer
The highlight of my summer was spending a weekend with you & Chris!!! Great food...thank you @Daunepitman! Loved my time learning from both of you! Thanks for making my summer extra special guys!! ❤️❤️
Yay for your South Carolina beach vacation!
My daughter and I took a train trip to NYC and between visiting the Modern Museum of Art, coffee in Soho, getting lost in a 3 story Manga bookstore and then watching Hadestown and meeting some of the Broadway cast afterwards = my summer bucket list is complete.
I have handed in my last edits and will now declutter some closets and read some good books out in my sunroom!
