The Desecration of Beauty—and What to Do About It

Dear Friends,

I’m calling an audible today and postponing this evening’s Gathering because I have a new article that posted over at The Gospel Coalition.

“The Desecration of Beauty—and What to Do About It” contains a message I’m passionate about. In a land where self-expression has replaced the search for and expression of the Beautiful, do Christians offer anything different; expressions of faith that point a hungering world towards God?

Are we content to co-opt the culture, aping it in the name of relevance, just to get our message across? Or is there a countercultural way to express our faith in a culture devoid of beauty?

I believe it’s time for an incongruous people to step up and testify to the God who is beauty itself.
