Unscripted Notes
We live in a state of undulation. The seasons mark the passing of time and remind us that we live in a state of constant change. Our physical bodies age while our souls yearn for the eternal. God uses this dualistic kind of existence to woo us. We sense the eternal within the temporal.
When we get too busy to see the wooings, we feel despondent. But if we can keep our eyes peeled, we can see eternity in “the brilliance of the every day.”
Walking the valleys challenges our perseverance. Valleys contain a topography of the heart and mind. We encounter false summits, only to find the trail leads us back to the valley floor. This frustrates our resolve. But valleys also contain a rugged beauty that shapes and strengthens us.
Thought for the Weekend
Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me. (Psalm 23:4, NLT)
Everyone walks through dark valleys. Maybe you are walking through one right now. If so, take heart, my friend. …
