I have to say reading this brought back memories! My husband and I met at Bob Jones University, I actually wracked up more demerits than he did, and I remember having to get everything "checked"! We actually just got back from dropping off our 2 middle children there. Our oldest 2 have already graduated from BJ (one works at the Press), and we hope our youngest 2 will attend in the near future. And my husband totally would have worn a t-shirt like that!

Ha! Thanks fantastic, Nicole! My one year at BJU gave me life-long friends. And it was how I got started in music. I ended up playing in a band for almost seven years. I was Basil society. What society was your husband in? :)

It's a good question, Eleanor. I can only answer that with what I currently do. I do hardly any news watching at all, or listening, for that matter. I read somewhere just the other day that polling shows how trust in the news media is at an all-time low. Les than 20% find folks in the media trustworthy. Basically, we feel we're being lied to all the time. For me, I find that I really don't miss anything by disconnecting from the prominent news sources. When I do want to get caught up on current events, I usually skim two major outlets of news, one from the moderate left and the moderate right. I'm not sure if any of these helps you at all. In the end, praying for wisdom and discernment is the best thing we can do in a society where truth is hard to find.
