Thanks, Tim! This is a helpful reminder, and a good challenge for me. Your point about movement especially resonates with me -- I tend, when facing a difficulty, to spend a lot of time thinking about it, though not very productively, and end up becoming stagnant, choosing to be a spectator rather than a participant (which is something I think you wrote a lot about in The Beauty Chasers). I have become more aware of the good that there is in simple movement; even if I don't know what to do, or where exactly it will lead, getting up and doing something has the tendency to create a snowball, and take me out of that static and anxious state.

I'm glad to know this isn't just an abstract thought for you, but something you're working out in your own life. I wish you all the best in your painting adventures, my brother! Keep running the race.

What's my fear? My fear is that I can't make my work sustainable and have to return to a PAYE job.
